Amber has experienced many injuries and has had varying treatments, which has taught her that clients play an active role in their rehabilitation process. Thanks to this experience, she became fascinated with how manual therapies can help her to manage her own musculoskeletal concerns, and she wishes to be able to bring that knowledge and therapy to all of her clients. Embarking on life with the urgency of living each day to its fullest has shaped my path as a clinical manual therapist. My journey took an unexpected turn when I faced Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, a challenge that redirected me towards the wellness and fitness sphere. I embraced recreational tennis, strength training, and a medley of martial arts, which naturally progressed into a three-year stint as a fitness trainer.

My fascination with the Functional Movement System and the intricacies of Myofascial Meridians catalyzed a transition to becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, a role carved out by my exposure as an RMT to a spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, postural complications, and recovery from surgical interventions.

During my tenure as an RMT student, I found joy in offering my services to diverse groups including the HIV community, senior residences, women’s healthcare facilities, and various athletic events.

My path eventually led me to pursue Osteopathy—a field where the focus shifts from diseases to the individual bearing them, aiming to restore function and mobility. Currently enrolled at the Vancouver Osteopathy School and studying Human Kinetics at Langara College, I am honing my skills to further aid my patients’ recovery and performance.

Before my foray into health and fitness, I explored the creative realm as an independent media artist with a focus on film and video production. Looking ahead, I aspire to blend my passions by creating educational content for both novices and experts in natural medicine and movement, sharing the wisdom of a life well-lived and learned.
